"Only wish these cats were still with us! Fantastic collection! Curtis Amy with a fantastic array of talent, from Dupree Bolton (trumpet) on Katanga (no wonder people are paying big bucks for this CD - a classic! Soul-ful!) through to Roy Ayers and Bobby Hutcherson playing vibes, and the list goes on. Great sound quality and excellent playing... the drummer on Katanga, Doug Sides, and Victor Gaskin on bass... these guys are smokin'!!!!!!!!!!! The only let down is the packaging. Why don't Mosaic Select use the artwork on katanga or do something a little sexier than a black and white portrait. You can't judge this box by its cover - that's for sure. Anyway... If you like this CD, check out Tina Brooks, True Blue, another soulful sojourn into jazz heaven!!!!!!"
