Both albums were recorded for the late Neil Bogart's Boardwalk Entertainment, the label he started after the demise of Casablanca. Love Is The Place first appeared in 1982 and features the classic 'Come Free Your People'. Honesty was released the following year in 1983 and was one of Mayfield's masterpieces, relying more on sweet soul than funk.
