CD ReviewsNOT FOR ANYONE ERME | Cornwall, UK | 02/20/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "Actually, Curve music is not an easy listening, if you consider what music market offers today...when I saw Curve on MTV for the first time in 1992 I felt that their music was different from any other sound I heard before. No compomise, you can love them or hate them because I think it's hard that somebody could think that their sound is "nice". Maybe weird, or the best ever but not middle way. I cant't tell you that this music is a mix of electronic rock, goth or something else, because is not. Only think that maybe it deserves you to run the risk to buy it." Great stuff Lovblad | Geneva, Switzerland | 08/06/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "Very strongcompilation of the singles and EP's of a very original and influential favourite of mine. This is actually much better as a buy than the first album. Essential. Their combination of gothic hard rock with a techno vive sung by their singer was quite something back then and it still manages to impress me." Not Really Garbage Steven Swan | Illinois | 08/25/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "Pubic Fruit is a collection of early British EP's from the band.
Often times compared to the band Garbage, I can see the resemblances in places; but to me they seem to more often sound like the Jesus and Mary Chain with a female vocalist. The feel/texture of the songs are quite often ripe with a swirling guitar buried beneath a throbbing rhythmn, the vocals can be described as goth/alternative perhaps, and are to me quite often just another element to the structure of the songs, an instrument in the mix, that you can quite often just get an "oooo" a couple times and it gets the job done. So it's great danceable, somewhat goth tinged, superb music that sounds great late at night, or anytime really. Everything on here sounds like a song you would hear in a dark club late at night/wee hours. Favs include "No Escape From Heaven", "Coast Is Clear", "Ten Little Girls", and "The Colour Hurts". Classic club tracks from this vastly underrated band from the early 90's." |
