Amazing Classics

"I got this CD when i was 8 years old, that was 11 years ago. Till this day its one of my favorite CDs! Cab Calloway and Fats Waller are amazing, every cut is a classic. From Leana Horne's stormy weather to Diga Diga Doo. From the instrumentals to the vocals its flawless. My favorite cut however has to be the last track (a special track that may not be on all copies)by Cab; he takes the stucture of his most famous song "Minnie the Moocher" and changes it to "Alfred the Moocher". Obviously this is a song about Alfred Newman- the composer of many beatful songs and scores to plays. Speaking of Plays you have to check out the play adaptation that was filmed, its a little rare but with enough looking you can find it."

"This is an excellent soundtrack if you like classic musicals from the swing era. I own the movie on VHS, as well as the soundtrack on cassette. I was so happy to see that it was available for purchase on CD. I am a huge fan of Cab Calloway, Lena Horne, and Fats Waller. If you ever get a chance, I highly recommend buying the movie too. For me, the songs on the soundtrack bring scenes from the movie back to life. I don't think you will be disappointed."
