"Shedding the Dj aspect of his bachelor roots, Cam (Laurent Daumail) is easing into Marital bliss. From his B-Boy tagging dayz through Parisian alleywayz to his lnflammable label and then his Jazz laced hip-hop excursion through several U.S. cities, Cam iz unquestionably cruizin the underground with a newfound style. Having brought us post midnite pleasure through his infamous "Cognac/ Cigar hazed repertoire" on Mad Blunted Jazz to heavier street beats with MC accompanyment (The Beat Assasinated & K7's Dj Kick series)the Chronowax Crew rolls out the first of what's shaping up to be many red carpets, with their unique compilation concept, for the gifted audio alchemist.Paying respects to loyal listeners, Cam cracks the Honeymoon suite door paying homage to love and beauty with 13 freshly dusted classics that leave faithful abstrakt jazz romantics anything but hopeless. As the first track (Grover Washington Jr's "Loran's Dance") encompasses my aural senses I can't help but think if this is any inkling to the tracks ahead, I'm going to enjoy this ride. Grade A uptempo Jazz with just the right elixir of sax and head nod beats (at Least Tribe Called Quest thought so). Ivory dominates the muzik on track two (3582 "Early Morning")with a dreamy piano loop as the ebony vocals take us to our next destination on a faded sunday joyride with Jay Dee's "proteges". (Que-D "Cash Flow) on track 3 provides a little scratch for the itch that ails you and (Phat Kat "Microphone Master") has that lyrical edginess that'll put a bounce in your otherwise bland strut. Track 5 (Coldcut "Autumn Leaves") has definitely been "missing us most of all" as Cam digs up a true rarity and advises us to enjoy. Heading back uptown and equally uptempo with Track 6 (Dj Matsuoka "Piano Objective 3") and really you can take it any which way you want it when he serves up a tale (Ty "The Tale) on Track 7. Cam's love for New York's beautiful hip-hop scene literally hits hard with Track 8 (Lil Dap "Brooklyn Zone"). Much love for us.The art of aging is aging gracefully. A little older a little wiser is Track 9's motto (Yah Supreme "Old & Wise) with another signature Cam abstrakt jazz stylistic flavor featuring scratches and lyrical wizardry that sets the stage for upcoming greats. Which brings up the next future "one to watch" (Bahamedia featuring Dwele "Philadelphia") short and sweet with melody as smooth as top shelf cognac. One word sums up track 11...In"flute"ntial. Japan's MC and big wig producer Muro couples with the Pucho Latin Brother for a tight blend of beats and flute. Ironic that track 12 features Mr Scruff ("So Long") as Cam himself is sporting a new look on Honeymoon's cover and just like Cam the harder edge always paves way to a delightful cinematic state of mind. So was it any wonder he'd pull through again? As the Honeymoon comes to an end with the expected cinematic flavor, Track 13 (Henry Mancini "Lujon" -remastered 1993) comes straight from a cinematic classic itself "Mr. Lucky".The Honeymoon may have ended but there's always Marital Bliss to tide us over till Cam's early 2002 release "Soulshine". Guaranteed to get heavy rotation for headz. Enjoy it...I sure did."
Not bad, but not enough here to make it good

"A themed compilation of "love of music" songs (more like smoothed-out tunes, not romantic at all, despite its packaging) put together by DJ Cam, a French DJ who's fallen off in recent records, but is at least always interesting. This record? Not all bad.It bounces from a straight-jazz track (Grover Washington's "Loran's Dance") and dips into some rare contemporary hip-hop stuff from just about everywhere. The mood is trippy but not inaccessible, but don't get confused in the marketing: this is not a "lovers" record. These aren't slow jams. This is sweaty party music, great for lounging, but a little hard and left-field for a chill-out session. Most of the songs themselves, while interesting, aren't necessarily great tracks, and there's just a bit more hip-hop than I was looking for from a record with the marketing this one is getting, but I guess that's where Cam's head is right now. Just because you stick a "love" chorus in the track don't make it a lovers tune. (#8)All in all, a not-bad record with interesting flavor, but not quite what they're selling it as, not quite as good as you hope it will be (I think Cam will never return to his former "Mad Blunted Jazz" glory), and not quite enough tracks to make it a recommended buy."

"...first of all, let me say this: I WOULD PAY TWICE AS MUCH AS THIS CD IS WORTH for track #1 alone!!! three times as much!!! 'loran's dance' - that is an awesome uptempo jazz tune and i been lookin for it since forever!! cant find it nowhere else online or in town...the entire album is excellent, specially if you like your jazz on that underground hip-hop vibe...several of the tracks are lyrically laced. and although i enjoy me some hip-hop aint noway i would think of playin this on my honeymoon!.. cam got some smoove-jazzed out pieces on here fasho, but overall, this is strictly for the bachelor party!...(honeymoon? riiiiight...like i said, cam is on somethin! somethin good, too!). yall already familiar with cam are gonna feel this...if you a newbie to this, then check out his 'mad blunted jazz' also...that disc is somethin serious!....."
