THE SINGLE AND LIKE THREE OTHERS WERE HOT BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS [...]. I WANT MY MONEY BACK. I SHOULD HAVE BOOTLEGGED THE ALBUM CAUSE THIS GUY [...]."

"DJ Khaled (AKA Khaled Khaled) provides his debut release "DJ Khaled: Listennn...The Album!" (2006). A seventeen track release which is jam packed with guest appearances from Pitbull, Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, Bloodraw, Bun B, Young Jeezy, Slick Pulla, Consquence, Kayne West, John Legend, Beanie Sigel, Jadakiss, Fat Joe, Lil Wayne, Paul Wall, Juelz Santana, Akon, Styles P, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Twista, Lil Scrappy, Homeboy, Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, Trina, Clipse, Freeway, Baby, Chop, Big Kuntry, T.I., Young Dro, Dre, Brisco, Dela, Dirt E. Red, Lunch Money, Hennessy and P.M. The New Orleans Terror Squad affiliate DJ have named this an album but it really is in mixtape format, with intros, shoutouts and many rappers who have no affiliations with each other. Another thing to be noted is the majority of production does not come from DJ Khaled (3 tracks). And while this may be a Terror Squad presented release the only Terror Squad rapper to be found on it is Fat Joe. To me this is really a over hyped release, DJ Khaled spends the beginning of the album talking about how this release is a classic, but in reality it is full of sub par material. Boring beats matched by braggy lyrics are what standout on the first few tracks (and much of the album). The first noteworthy track for me is "Problem", Beanie Sigel and Jadakiss former rivals provide a solid collaboration. Fat Joe, Lil Wayne, Pitbull,Paul Wall and Rick Ross team up for the single "Holla At Me", anyone who listens to Sam Scarfo will recognize this beat, while Scarfo killed this beat on his own mixtape cut, these five rappers provide more skip material. Akon, Fat Joe, Styles P and Rick Ross provide an okay track with "Watch Out". Akon seems to be on everything these days and in truth has a lot of better new collaborations ("Snitch" with Obie Trice) and solo material coming out. The rap games fastest flowing artists Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Twista collab for "Destroy You". Creatively this is a cool cut, musically its forgettable. The rest of DJ Khaled's "Listennn...The Album!" does not standout out for me. 1.5.

Bad Songs:The Movement(kinda so so),MIA(Wayne at his worst),Scrappy's Song(plain horrible,he could do better),Baby Song.





Dats my opinoin.Still a great Cd 4 stars."
