"I only write reviews when I'm inspired...DJ Sakin & Friends' release of 'Walk On Fire' has been a huge success in Europe. This comes as no surprise being loaded with such hits including 'Protect Your Mind (Braveheart),' 'Nomansland (David's Song),' and 'Dragonfly.' As of just recently purchasing 'Walk On Fire,' I can honestly say that this ranks as one of my favorite albums of all time. My other favorites include Robert Miles' 'Dreamland,' Chicane's 'Behind The Sun' and 'Far From The Maddening Crowds,' and Paul Oakenfold's 'Tranceport.' If you enjoy any one of these albums, you'll love DJ Sakin's.The three main players on this release are Torsten Stenzel, Sakin Bozkurt, and the singer Janet Taylor. DJ Sakin & Friends is not just a group of people but actually a whole variety of musicians and contributors that collaborated to make this album into a masterpiece. These include York, Jorg Stenzel, Vladimir Cosma, Heiko Maile, Casey Keth, James Horner (the composer to Titanic and Braveheart), and even world-famous violinist Vanessa-Mae. Each track has its own beauty and uniqueness.'Walk On Fire' begins with a song featuring the artist York, then proceeds on to 'Poem II,' a reflectful piece of lyricism. The best thing about this CD is not just the quality of the music but also the flow. The whole album is sort of like a soothing wave. The nice photography and artwork really helps too. After 'Poem II' comes the song 'Protect Your Mind,' DJ Sakin & Friend's first major hit. It's a dance re-work of James Horner's theme to Braveheart. The next two are among my favorites: 'Turkish Memories' and 'Dragonfly' (The melody to 'Dragonfly' is absolute bliss!!). Other highlights later on include 'Wait For You,' 'Nomansland (another big hit for a good reason),' and of course 'Reminiscing' featuring Vanessa-Mae. 'Reminiscing' is sort of a relaxed pause before the last song, 'Enter the Filter' featuring K.C., which is a fast-paced and energetic finish to the album. There's just so much incredible variety on this CD. You go from electronic synthesizers to guitars to Uilleann pipes to violins. The only things I believe DJ Sakin & Friends could've improved upon was the lyrics and picking the right tracks to put on the finished product. Neither of the two biggest hits, 'Protect Your Mind' and 'Nomansland,' were the same two versions that were featured in the much-popular music videos. In actuality, however, the versions currently on the CD have better flow with the rest of the music.Besides all that, DJ Sakin & Friends deserve a round of applause. You'll really enjoy this if you're into Trance and Dreamdance.>> Truly a piece of work. 5 stars.- the enlightened one"
