"This cd i got as a joke because my friends always made fun of how many dj's had weird names, like dj "krush", or dj "spooky", ....or dj "shadow". so, just to see what the fuss was about, i bought the cd on a whim, and i haven't regreted it since. the man is unbelievable.... this cd is pure energy....the fact that shadow takes so many beautiful sounds and crafts them into intricate works of art, like "midnight in a perfect world" or "what does your soul look like?", makes me appreciate him even more. from electrifying pieces like "the number song", which gets me moving all the time, to the melancholic "stem/long stem", he is the reason i got into listening to dj's and artists like him in the first place, and i will swear by this album until the day i die."

"Absolutely THE best album in my collection. I can listen to it thousands of times and still get something different out of it. I love this album. DJ Shadow is the best musician working today."
