CD Reviews

My favorite DJ

"The more I listen to DJ Tiesto's mixes the more he justifies himself for being my #1 DJ. No other DJ satisfies my musical needs than Tiesto and this mix is one reason why. No words can describe the brilliance and perfection of this compilation All tracks are my favorite and Tiesto did a good job starting the journey out with Push's-"Anthem" Tracks 1-4 are upbeat head bobbing hands in the air tracks. Always turn up the volume during "Endless Wave" when i started to listen to Tracks 5-8 I closed my eyes and was taken to the depths of Tiesto's heart-pleasing melodies out of body spiritual experience especially during "Last Voyage" and picturing Tiesto's smile has he lays it down with greatness. Recommended to ALL Tiesto fans a must have in ur Tiesto collection"
One of Tiesto's best

"Tiesto @ Innercity is one of the greatest classic trance albums ever. It starts off with a bang with Push's "Anthem." You can hear the crowd whistling and chanting, but when the song's climax hits, the crowd goes wild and you share the same feeling as well. It then mixes really well into "Out of Darkness" by Fire & Ice. Afterwards, it flows smoothly into latin-flavoured "El Nino" and then "Endless Wave." Then Tiesto tones it down a few notches, and this is the prompt for you to drop your glowsticks and put your headphones on. And for me, these next sequence of tracks is really, really what makes this CD to me a classic. The sounds are so diverse, but recognizable. You know you're listening to trance and even if this is the first time you're listening to this genre of music and you know... it sounds wonderful. The songs are very low-key. Tiesto really doesn't turn things up until "Twixt" before mixing into his own "Theme from Norefjell." The last two tracks "Gouryella" and "Orange Theme" are Ferry Corsten produced and remixed tracks, with the former being a collaboration between Tiesto and Ferry.

While trance sets aren't made like this anymore, unlike most trance albums of the last decade, this one still remains a treat to hear.

I would highly recommend this set for listening with headphones in your bedroom with the lights off. Other of Tiesto's live sets such as Magik 6 and 7 I would better recommend in your car or as background music at a party. But this set is different. Many of the songs here weren't necessarily chosen because they were classics---b/c many of them are not besides "Gouryella", "Orange Theme" and "El Nino." And that's what makes this set so good. The mixing is impeccable. Tiesto holds a mixing clinic on this CD.

This was the first Tiesto album I heard and while I kept looking for more of his progressive trance work, this is as fine a classic trance album as there ever was and always a treat to listen to."
