"ever since vadim has switched labels he has crafted a new identity in which he has released two (ish), and now three solid albums worth your attention. 'soundcatcher' (released in 07) was voted as my album of the year, truly phenomenal work... 'soundcatcher extras' was released with some more follow-up tunes and remixes that didnt make the album (doesnt mean theyre any less good).
and now his latest release 'u can't lurn imaginashiun' follows up in his repertoire of electro soul funk reggae and hip-hop. with many featured vocalists from all over the globe mixed with vadim's versatility of samples and craftsmanship on the decks you are sure to find a bit of everything!
if you liked souncatcher, you will like this one as well... if youre a fan of his older stuff, don't expect him to come back to his roots on this album... with familiar faces in the lineup, the first track egnites you featuring Big Red, just like his last album and Yarah Bravo shines brightly on 'You are Yours', a playfully soulful and loveful duet betwen the producer and his lady. and of course, you have those beautiful more heartfelt instrumentals just like on the last album...
some may argue that this album went too mainstream with some synthesized vocals on tracks like 'saturday', but i say hey, its summer, kick back, have a drink and lets have a good time! my only complaint... its too much like his last release...but i loved his last release, so i shouldn't complain. i think he will switch it up on his next album.
another solid effort by vadim, i will purchase the vinyl as well and hope to see him on tour! (always a great live show, if he is in your area, go see him live!) [...]"
