Synopsis
Album Description 2010 mix from the Hip Hop superstar. DMX has sold tens of millions of records, one of the only rappers to do so twice in one year. He's a mega star. His movie roles equal ticket sales at the box office. With all of his success though, trouble always seems to find him. His stints with the law include animal cruelty, to DUI's , bar brawls etc. He is definitely a man with faults, but an artist that is always honest with his fans and accepts responsibility for his faults but always does thing his way. Which is why his reality show is the highest rated show on BET and his music and movies continue to sell. This album is way over due but is finally here! |
CD ReviewsThe Dog Deserves Better Than This C. Palma | Staten Island, NY | 04/07/2010 (3 out of 5 stars) "I'm not sure if these tracks were meant for the "Walk With Me Now", "Fly With Me Later" albums, but if they were, I'm glad they ended up on a mixtape instead. The only songs on here that are album worthy are "Put 'Em Up", "Solid" and "Have You Eva". He wouldn't do a song with Loon and G-Dep EVER. They just threw these songs together to put some money in X's pockets while he does his bid. If you're a hardcore DMX fan like myself, I'd get it. But if you're looking for that classic DMX, don't bother. I don't think his heart was in this. God Bless You, Earl Simmons. Kick those drugs and be healthy!" Support the dog Alex | MTL aka Real city, Canada | 06/10/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "Short and sweet, if you like DMX then you will love this. A little something while we wait for the next album." 4.5 stars for his 7th album G$ | B-More, MD | 06/03/2010 (4 out of 5 stars) "DMX returns with is 7th album, and almost 4 years since his last. With all his legal troubles he has been quiet on mic over the last few years, and it's nice to see him come back just as strong as always. This is his shortest album, at only 11 songs and around 35 minutes long. Guests are on 7 of the 11 songs, and mostly are just recycled verses from them artists' albums from the past year or so that were released under the Siccness label. Of the 11 songs, you get 2 near classics, 7 are good, and 2 of them are ok. I'd give one of his albums 5 stars (1998's debut: "It's Dark and Hell Is Hot") and one 4 stars (2003's "Grand Champ", the rest I'd say are 4.5 or border 4/4.5 so this one fits in with mostly all his other albums in its quality. Production is nice as well. Pat Gallo does 6 songs, Batkave does 4, and Main event West does 1. Has more upbeat/harder tracks than his other albums, as he usually has a few deeper, more personal songs scattered through his albums, but not on this one. A nice album to have for his fans after a long break.
