"This record is fantastic! Daevid was a founding member of The Soft Machine. Very talented an intreguing song writer. This record leans on some rarely explored folk side of music. Daevid challenges us with intricate melodies and a less fancy over all sound than what we have seen in his Gong band days. This still has many progressive electric elements in it too. Released in 1976, this record is more progressive folk with some space and prog rock influence. It is fresh today because nobody else has done anything like it before or since! Excellent spin if you can find it!"

"Originally released in 1976,as this was Daevid Allen's second solo outing.A rather good art rock/Canterbury record,I thought.'Good Morning' is a more acoustic set(w/no drums)that showcases some really nice glissando guitar work.Noticed that fellow Gong mate space whisper mistress Gilli Smyth shows up here.Tunes I was most impressed w/were the title track "Good Morning","French Garden",the eleven-minute "Wise Man In Your Heart" and "Euterpe Gratitude Piece".A should-have."
I agree , this is his best! Reissue it NOW!

"I am a big fan of canterbury bands and of course of Daevid , although he doesn't really fit in that style. His music is more of a personal thing ( like Robert Wyatt's). But this music can be described as pop rock with avant garde, space, prog and folk influences. If you can't find this particular one try to find 'Now is the happiest time of my life' or ' New York Gong' which don't really compare (as each is different from the other) but can provide clues of his overall sound. Daevid Allen comes highly recommended to those interested in rock, prog rock or psychedelia."
