CD ReviewsCountry doesn't get any better than this! 03/05/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "Every chord, every line is so true, so sincere and so beautifull! Though I've always loved countrymusic, I now realise I never knew real country music... 'till Cheatin' Heart Attack. It's heartfelt and realistic, without anything to make it look better, sound better or seem better. For this artist, who doesn't want to sell his soul to those major labels, give in to the rocky and poppy side of the new Nashville sound or give up his dreams and ideals for stardom, fortune and millionselling albums it wouldn't be more appropriate to, even after the 4 years that have passed, hit the top at the Billboard 100! His best album ever, but I'm still curiously waiting for the follow-up for The Truckin' Sessions" DALE WATSON - ESSENTIAL COUNTRY ! R.S. | Broulee, NSW Australia | 08/07/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "If you're into Hard Core Country buy this album! Dale can sing it - and his crack band can play it - better than most! Texas Honky Tonk "n" Heartache at it's best! While I'm at it I'll give his next three albums("Blessed Or Damned","I Hate These Songs","The Truckin'Sessions")5 stars each as well! He's that good he can even make a whole record of truckin' songs that I would put on any essential Country list. If like me, you're sick an' tired of mainstream Nashville Country Pop - Dale is the ticket!" What country music should be Aristotle | 10/22/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "Dale Watson is what country music should be. Twangy guitars, crying steel-pedal guitars and fiddles. This album has all that.Dale's voice is one of the richest in country music history. It is a shame that commercial country radio can find no place for real country music. The songs are sometimes fun, sometimes sad, always country. If you long for the day when country music loses its cross-over infatuation (don't hold your breath), buy this CD and play it all the time. Guaranteed not to disappoint."
