Damien's music seems to pull deep emotion up to just below the surface of your skin. His music captures and conveys the bittersweet agony of being in love. Several songs on the albumn nearly brought me to tears. Although I found this to be somehow disturbing I am willing to conceed that this is an indication of a truly stunning musical experience." I found this little jem just before xmas 03 and haven't stopped listening to it since. Today for example I've played the album twice,and that was all the way through without skipping a track. There is too much talent and emotion in it just to be played and forgotten There is a good and bad side to this Album, the good being that none of the songs apart from Cannonball get played on radio (BBC radio 2) The bad thing is none of the songs really get played on radio, so anyone I know who has heard of Damien Rice has found him through word of mouth, yeah me! Damien blows them all out of the water for his song writing. The musician ship is just way out there, and Lisa Hannigan's voice is just beautiful. When I listen to cold water and her her sing I melt, I haven't really listened to the lyrics to here what they are saying on this song, I just haven't gotten past her voice yet, thats the thing with this album there's layer upon layer of music, lyrics, and emotion."
