This release coincides with the national competition to find Australias next Dancehall Queen. First held last year culminating in over 800 people attending the final DHQ sees the Reggae movement being exposed to all corners of Australia with the state finals and then ultimately the final. This CD sees DJ K Note and Nick Toth aka Surgeon General concoct a mix CD featuring all the classic tracks from the Dancehall and gives you a glimpse of Reggae culture featuring the likes of Sean Paul, Beenie and Elephant Man as well as commercial hits such as Shakira feat Wyclef - Hips Don't Lie K Note is the man behind the Dutty Bass brand of mix CDs and Nick Toth has been a major name in Hip Hop, Reggae, Soul and Funk as a DJ since residing in Australia around 10 years ago. Nick was also part of the Blazin series and put out a mix CD for Good Vibrations promoter Jam. A Jamaican institution since the early 80's, Dancehall Queen contests today take place all over the globe - from Chicago to London; Berlin to Tokyo.Caribbean music, one of the fastest growing musical genres worldwide, provides the back-drop for these high energy and entertaining competitions in which the most creative and original dancer will take the crown of Dancehall Queen at the end of the night.
