Bluesy and Spectral

"The late Kevin Coyne is easily on par with Captain Beefheart and Syd Barrett.
This is his early bluesy stuff with a twist. Three albums with extra cuts:
Siren 1969
Strange Locomotion 1971
Case History 1972
He has a keening driving voice. The instrumentation is very spare. Yet there is great atmosphere conveyed. There is an acid soaked sensiblity at play here.
Case History is the masterpiece. There is a floating spectral quality to the songs as Coyne manipulates his voice into different voices.
Fans of Beefheart, Barrett should check this out."
