A glance at things to come

"According to their official website, The Dandy Warhols have asked Massive Attack to produce their next album. Thus it would be fair to guess that Robert 3d Del Neja's remixes of "Godless" from the Dandy's "13 Tales" album are a preview of the flavor that next release will have. Hu-zzah!! While these remixes still have the distinct Dandy's sound (something hard to put into words but the essence of which is exemplified in the opening bars of "Be-In" from the "Come Down..." album) they have been given an added shot in the arm. I.E. in the dub mix despite added base, tricking out Courtney Taylor-Taylor's vocal, and throwing in the intro sitar from "Mohammed" (also from the "13 Tales" album), your head will still loll like it did the first time you heard the original cut. The trumpet solo, so central to that version, is saved as a teaser (but only if you're good!) in the Massive Attack remixes to great effect. I had to wait nearly six months to get my hands on this single but it was well worth it. Oh, and "Horse Pills" is a nice bonus, it made me laugh as always."
