As of June 4th, 2009, Daniel Barenboim and the Wiener Philharmoniker graced the Viennese public with a free openair concert on the grounds of Schönbrunn Palace. The impressive historical setting of Schönbrunn Palace and its beautiful baroque gardens, a UNESCO world cultural heritage site, form a unique backdrop for this Summer Night concert. Over 150,000 visitors were present in the audience for this momentous occasion. Recorded & filmed by Austrian Television (ORF), the concert will be broadcast world-wide in more than 50 countries and will be rush released on CD and on DVD. The US Broadcast on PBS is currently scheduled for September 16th.
