"There seems to be some confusion with reviewers on what a score/soundtrack to a movie is. A soundtrack may contain background music (score), songs, dialog, sound effects, etc. Anything sound related to a movie. The score is the background music which is usually instrumental (generally orchestral or electronic) written by a composer for the film. In this case the soundtrack contains only the score. Some movies generate song soundtracks only or seperate song and score soundtracks, but the norm is for score only or score plus a song or 2. Just check carefully the description.
In this case, at the top it says by Dario Marianelli who is the composer of the score. Since all the music was written by him there is no need to say who wrote each piece in the track descriptions below. When there is a mix of composers, songwriters or artists on a soundtrack, they are then usually listed next to the tracks they are responsible for.
Hope this helps some. I understand buying something and not getting what you thought you were going to get. I have collected over a thousand soundtracks, but unlike most of you, for the instumental score only and have been burned several times by getting a disk full of songs which I don't want. Different point of view, same outcome!"
