CD Reviews

Amazing

"This is my favorite album released since "Ok Computer". The songs are crafted beautifully. The production is simple and effective. The balance of the four members hits the mark on every song. The drums, when they are there, are played by Dosh, who does an excellent job. I don't have a lot to say about this death-oriented album other than you have to listen to it. You will love it or not. There is not a lot of in between."
Great Great Great

"If, like me, you enjoy the Dresden Dolls but wish they could rock it more gypsy style and less cabaret style...or if you enjoy the Decemberists, but think maybe they can get a bit epic, and, well, could use a woman's touch...or maybe enjoy Rasputina, but could really do without the attitude and all those damn cellos...then, by golly, Dark Dark Dark is the band for you. There's accordion. And banjo. There's boy vocals AND girl vocals. There are clever song titles to make the recovering goth in you giggle. Also, they're good. Really, really good."
Exceedingly neat music, not so dark as one might think

"let's see. found dark, dark, dark at random, listened to them on a whim. liked it. bought this album. love it. simply love it.

subject matter on lots of the songs, not necessarily my favorite (death and all), but decently written lyrics. lovely rich textures. the singing is great, both male and female (but especially that nona marie invie...love her way of singing, wow.)."
