Album DescriptionDave Bartholomew is well known to most fans of Rhythm & Blues for his longtime collaboration with New Orleans legend Fats Domino. It is less commonly known that he had a lengthy career in his own right, actually preceding The Fat Man into the New Orleans recording studios by several years. Bartholomew's final recording for King was his classic "My Ding-A-Ling," which must have had a very difficult time receiving radio play in 1952. Chuck Berry would make it into a million-seller with his version for Chess in 1972, at which time he claimed writer's credits - much to Bartholomew's displeasure! For his early influence on Rock & Roll, Dave Bartholomew was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1991.
