"Devil's advocate is dj/remixer/producer Dave Clarke's first proper full length release. Let me begin by saying that the majority of the cd's cuts are uptempo and get your blood boiling. There is a good amount of variety on the cd with techno, electro, and house all being properly represented. "Way of life" opens up with an old skool feel, with it's pitched up and effected organ loop and heavy duty house beats. The cover of Bauhaus's "She in parties" is pretty imaginative and current with it's driving Moroderesque bassline and ice cold vocals by Chicks on Speed. The Chicks show up again on "Disgraceland", a song lampooning the current state of the music industry, but it's not as interesting. "The wiggle" picks up where "Way of life" left off with twisted house loops, old skool vocal samples and stomping beats. Probably a tribute to Terry Francis's house night of the same name. The previously released tribal-techno stomper "The wolf" still does the business. "Just ride" and "Stay out of the light" are both danceflor burners. If your lookig for a techno cd that has a good amount of variety and works at home as well as on the dancefloor pick up "Devil's Advocate" today."

"have to disagree with a previous reviewer of DAVE CLARKE, yes we all make mistakes especially when it is live, like on BBC, which i have and many other live mixes like it or better, but DAVE CLARKE is by far a great sound and one of the reasons i love tekno, so yes i highly recommend dave clarke, you have to remember people do like to experiement and dabble with other sounds that we may not like, he still has bangin tekno hits!!"
