CD Reviews

DAVE GLASSER IS A MASTER!
Sussex Pond Pudding | 05/31/2000

"Why this man isn't a huge star I will never know. He has been doing some of the most soulful and beautiful playing in jazz for years with Count Basie, Byron Stripling, and others. He reminds me of Cannonball Adderley, but is definitely his own man and has a unique style. I need not mention how great the rest of the band is. Buy this and get the word out!"
This is already a classic

"Just picked up this album and was blown away. It was recommended to me by a guy at my local record store whom I trust and when I got home and played it I was amazed. Glasser has such a unique and pleasing sound and the band is awesome. The reviewer who said he sounds like Hodges and Adderley is correct but mostly he sounds like no one else. He is extremely soulful and bluesy but with the utmost sophistication and taste. Please buy this. By the way I've also heard his new one that comes out in a couple of weeks and it is even better. They were playing a promotional copy at the store. This guy can play. Spend your whole CD budget on getting this if you have to."
This is the nicest album I have heard in years

"I am a diehard listener to the oldies, the tried and true, the greats, and I don't venture out to new artists all that much, sticking mostly to Miles, Coltrane, Bird etc. I listen to music that's so good in my eyes that I never get sick of it. This album meets that criteria, expecially Bye-Yard and The Nearness of You. I can set my CD player to play either of these tracks over and over and listen to them all day."
