I purchased this album about one year ago. After listening to it countless times, it still sounds as fresh and intriguing as the first time.Disc one has a dark, sultry and smooth introduction. A slow burner, the beats don't begin in earnest until the beginning of track four. Tracks worth noting are "Mind Rewind", "Depth" and "Kenny's Back". Disc two begins with EXPLOSIVE FUNK. "Glitterball" and "Legacy" are two great tracks worth playing over and over. After these, the album settles down a notch, only to take you up again with "The Roots". CD2 closes gracefully with Tom Middleton's superb remix of "What Sound" and Frakkar's "Slide".Dave Seaman took a detour on this album. A serious departure from his Buenos Aires and Cape Town compilations, it is by no means an album one can dance to. While the album lacks the "trance" elements, Dave's flawless mixing is still present. This compilation is packed with deep, rich and variegated sounds. Great for those individuals who have grown out of trance and euro-cheese, looking for something fresh and different. Perfect when listened through a set of headphones, or when chilling out with your friends.

"My dance collection is actually very tiny but from what I've heard so far, Dave Seaman is my absolute favorite mixer. Whether it be trance, techno or electronica, I'm very picky when it comes to selecting an album to buy because, ever since this type of music emerged from the underground scene and began to grow popular amongst young people (mostly) looking for a fun time at raves, the genre has also developed into staggering bounds so, as a result, there's now a large amount of mediocre DJs rounding the tables, claiming to be the next Paul Oakenfold. Consequently finding a flawless record that'll keep you entertained from beginning to end is kind of like finding a needle in a haystack and that's why I'm thrilled to have found someone I can rely on when it comes to delivering the goods. I was in my sister's car one day when I heard her playing 'Renaissance Awakening' and I instantly became captivated. I'm still stunned at the wonders of that masterpiece, which is highly underrated, but it wasn't until I gave in and got 'Renaissance Desire' that this guy's immense talent truly sunk in. 'Global Underground: Melborne' took longer than the others to grow on me but sometimes those turn out the best. Unlike a lot of techno, I don't find Dave Seaman's work to be at all redundant. He incorporates a lot of different styles to keep everything sounding fresh, such as drum n' bass, borderline funk, and atmospheric trance that occasionally ventures into the dark and mysterious. He even toys with some Middle Eastern and does a splendid job at it too. His three part opus ranging from tracks 3-5 on CD#1 is incredibly infectious and you can't help turning the volume up as the hypnotic tune completely seduces your senses. I also love the remix version of Lamb's "What Sound" which I prefer over the original. The limited edition features probably aren't worth the extra bucks but I highly recommend this so I wouldn't pass it up if I were you! You're making a grave mistake if you do."
