"This is David Campbell's second solo album and it's a powerful emotional ride. His voice has an exposed edge to it, whether in a ballad like "Never Really Mine To Lose" or in the fast-driving anthem "Taking The Wheel". The range of material has a touch of a singer in a hurry to sing everything at once but the intensity of his interpretations is never in doubt. He converts the prayer-like nature of John Bucchino's "Grateful" into an affirmation of strength in adversity and he gives Wildhorn/Knighton's "Storybook" a whirlwind momentum, evocative of the runaway emotion of young love. I've been fortunate to see Campbell in 2 stage productions and in 3 different cabaret performances; his voice has travelled even further in strength and polish since this album (listen to his show-stopping rendition of "I'm Martin Guerre" in the 1998 release of "Hey Mr Producer! The Musical World of Cameron Mackintosh"). I'm looking forward to his next solo album."

"If you have not seen David Campbell in concert or in person, you have missed a truly remarkable tallent. I was fortunate to see his live performance in Houston with about 100 other people! Almost as if it was a personal show. This is one guy to keep your eye on. Someday I will be able to say, "I saw him before he got BIG.""
