This album is incredibly enjoyable, even if you DO take it seriously. The band here definitely strive for a 60s psychedlic/pop/lounge/elevator music feel, and they hit all the right chords -- just on a musical level, I can't say enough good things about this silly little album -- I just love the 'groovy' recreation of that 60s sunshine pop vibe. It works incredibly well. But let us not forget the facetiousness of this album. You're also in for a few laughs, as 'David Candy' indluges in self-centric babble, which includes naming his favorite places, his favorite food (Mafarka Pudding), and even how to make it. 'Play Power' is a tad light, but it makes for a quick little psychedelic ride, and even throws in some nice jazz for good measure. Definitely worth a buy, if you can find it. Bon Appetitio!" I was intrigued by Ian's use of spectacle. However, this album offers another perspective on Ian's chemistry by transmitting his neural firings into a stream-of-consciousness-like flow. Whether he believes any of the things he mentions or as some accuse, it is a tribute to one's own ego, is purely irrelevant. He has allowed us, as listeners, entry into the workings of his mind. The truth is that he knows of the existence of such things in reality and has chosen to pair the words and ideas with the underlying music. His decision-making is flawless. For those with interest in modern art, you'll smile with a flash of recognition at some of the esoteric references, as I'm sure those with culinary preoccupations will at the recipe recital.To borrow from Oscar Wilde, "It is the very flower of decadence.""
