"If you like the shaman-type sound, this CD is very nice. You have 4 tracks of slow, steady drumming with various sounds slowly introduced and built upon. In the vicinity of 1 hour total, you hear primarily shamanic tribal drumming, crystal and tibetan bowls, and a soft Native American Flute.



Specific instruments include: Taos Log Drums, Ashiko, Congas, Tar, Dumbek, Gathering Drum, Turtle Rattle, Seed Pod Rattle, Palm Leaf Rattle, Rainstick, Kalimba, Souix Drum, Native American Flute, Dun Duns, Djembe, Native Heart Drum, Frame Drums, Acoustic Guitar, Vocals, Taos Pueblo Rattles, Sangba, Bongo Madera, Adodo, Talking Drums, Box Drum, Repinique, Moroccan Bongos, Batajon, Surdo, Shakas, Calabash, Ghatam, Gongs, Tibetan Bowls, and Crystal Bowls.



Instructions on how to do a drum meditation are included on the insert. You basically connect with the sound of the drums--very relaxing.



This CD can certainly be used for meditation, relaxationlternative healing therapies (such as Reiki), or for just drifting into dreamtime. Sometimes I even play this while I'm reading or while writing a review. Very American Indian shamanic sounding.



I have never heard a David and Steve Gordon CD that I didn't like."

Soothing Drum Rhythms

"Meditation Drum is a slower, more introspective album compared to their other drumming albums such as Drum Cargo: Rhythms of Fire or Sacred Earth Drums. The Native American flutes and Tibetan singing bowls are beautifully intertwined with the masterful rhythmic drumming the Gordons' are so skilled at creating. I have found it to be very effective for my meditation sessions but even if you are not into meditation, I know you will love this album as much as I do!"
