"Anyone interested in this album also might check out Thomas Bacon's album, "Nighthawks," which features some of the same pieces. Bacon's interpretation, however, is edgier and more aggressive than Jolley's. Personally, I like Jolley's style better, but true horn enthusiasts should own both."
Great Music By Wilder, Great Performance By David Jolley

"This disc was a wonderful discovery! I had not heard of Alec Wilder, but knew of David Jolley. Wilder's music reminds me of Gershwin combined with Debussey. The performers are David Jolley on horn, David Oei on piano, Alan Kay on clarinet, and Sam Pilafian on tuba (not your usual classical quartet). Play this on a rainy/snowy day or late in the evening, you'll love it!"
