Synopsis
Album Description ***Dazzling & Brilliant! Hopeful Mumurs of the wondering and unfarmiliar roads into domesticticity, put down in such a sound that rings out like children at play. Movie music for the mind. S.F. Examiner Tall Tales is a storybook illustrated by a man who wants to grasp what life is all about but ends up shoving in our faces the fact that life is "Who-Do" and one must make mushrooms out of it. Not necessarily a debut album, but rather a collection; "Tales" is David Korgans first venture out to gain a wider audience. When one gives a listen to this first effort you will find a strange new world. We can only describe the experience as if you were listening to your first Cure record while discovering masturbation at the same time. Opening the album with 'Chance" you drift into a wonderland of sounds only to find that someone is telling you something. Further listening we find a highpoint with 'Wish I Was You' which was what David calls: "my perfect anti-pop song". There is also a hint of parody to 'Like a Virgin' in the song "Impossible" which holds up strong as a single of its own. Much of the album races around in themes giving the listener the feel that there is a joke to be let in on. But what is the joke and is it funny. Give a listen and find out. (Phew! There really is still good music being out there!)Judah Raquinio - Rock Star Magazine |
