"The heart of this album is a collection of meditation chants by Tibetan monks. Their voices and musical instruments seem timeless. This is my favorite album for meditation. With a darkened room, a lit candle, and this album I can travel to the great monasteries in Tibet and experience some of the wisdom of Buddha's teachings."

"No, not the new Tron game- this CD (along with fairly informative and colorful booklet) has been more than a simple recording of fully-spirited performers (excuse the pun), even though the sound quality is superb and no doubt the best you'll be able to find (trust me- I saw a troupe of polyphonic Buddhist monks chant live in Raleigh, NC, and the CD is probably of better sound quality, forsaking the intimacy of presence). It has taken me on not only a complete mind-bending aural experience (I've tried practicing the chanting. It doesn't work so well.), but also several spiritual journeys. Their non-standard rhythmic changes and ever-building harmonies (not traditional Western harmonies, mind you) will, if you allow them, push you to the edge of you conciousness.Aside from Coil's "Time Machines" and Aphex Twin's "Selected Ambient Works II", you will find no better guide for meditation, and none better if you want something more natural than Dick James or Pete Christopherson can offer. You can't carry money to the grave, but you can carry these amazing sounds. Stop being a prude and buy it already."
