"I own no few recordings by David Parsons and I had been hoping for something new for a while. This effort (and Surya) gave me just what I had waited for over the last couple of years. In contrast to the stark and powerful soundscapes "painted" by the artist on albums like Parikrama and Dorje Ling, this set of pieces explores the sublte textures of his instruments; taking the listener more inward, to quieter places. I played it at my friend Larisa's yoga class and, by the time the cut Chautha Loka was playing, everyone was seated motionless and you could feel the synthesized chimes reaching, echoing, into each of us.
If you are a fan, as I am, you may hear pieces which bear similarities to early recordings. But I think of it as an artist refining an idea through his mastery of the various instruments at his disposal. So saying, I recommend this CD most enthusiastically. Hari Om Tat Sat."
