What a voice! You won't be disappointed...

"One of my 6th graders loaned me this CD by David Phelps. Having never heard of him before, I took a chance and said, "Why not?" Needless to say, I was blown away by David's incredible voice. Like a previous comment, I thoroughly love every song, and that's coming from one who is very difficult to please in the music realm. There's music, and then there's **MUSIC**! This is my first experience with David, and if his other music is anything like this, I will be buying more. So much of today's contemporary Christian is unappealing to me, so it seems so natural to get a vocalist whose voice style I can listen to, and not have to wonder what they're saying. If you're looking for mellow, there are several songs like that (Someone Who Cares; The Wind and the Waves, etc.); if you want some songs that make you want to jump up and shout, they're present, too (Let the Glory Come Down; End of the Beginning)! Some meditative (Miles and Miles Away; I Cry, You Care) that will encourage you are on this CD as well. This CD ranks as probably my all-time favorite, and if you're looking for a CD that will lift you into the Lord's very presence, buy it. I assure you, you will not be disappointed!"

"I LOVE this CD. I think David Phelps has the best voice I've ever heard. I love to listen to the Gaither Vocal Band and was so excited to see this solo CD. Guy Penrod is also amazing! Actually - I love them all. Don't hesitate to but this, you'll listen to it forever and ever! My 13 year old daughter always wants to listen to this in the car and I never say no because I want to listen to it too! Although he makes me want to cry sometimes because his voice is so moving."

Awesome Voice, Great CD

"Several months ago, my church choir did "End of the Beginning" one Sunday morning. I loved the song, and I started looking for a recorded copy. That search lead me to this CD, and am I ever glad it did.

David Phelps has an amazing Tenor voice. I honestly can't believe he can hit some of those "high" notes. Listening to this CD is often breath-taking.

The songs selected feature encouraging reminders of God's love and care for us. His connection with the Gaithers is rather obvious. A couple songs were co-written by Benjamin Gaither, and "You Can Dream" was co-written by David Phelps and Gloria Gaither. The CD has a Gospel flavor on several tracks, most noticeably "My Child is Coming Home." Other highlights include "The Wind and the Waves," "Miles and Miles Away," and a cover of "No More Night."

My favorite songs on here are the three that David wrote by himself. The disc opens with "I Cry, You Care," a great upbeat song about how quick God is to be near us when we call on him. The second track is the previously mentioned "End of the Beginning," a story song about sharing the gospel. The third song is "Fly Again." This touching ballad about the hope of Heaven closes out the disc.

If I had one complaint about the disc, it's the habit of starting a song with the chorus is a funky rhythm or style. This happens on several tracks and is annoying. Still, it's a minor complaint.

I had never heard of David Phelps before my quest for that one song began. I'm very glad I had reason to find him. You can bet I'll be getting his other CD's in the very near future."

"Ive heard them all: Pavoratti, Michael Crawford, Helmut Lotti, Josh Groban. No one can do what David does. His range, tone, breath control, expression, power....its all mind boggling and so easy to listen to. I play this CD over and over again and never get tired of hearing him sing (this has been going on for 13 months now). Check out his Christmas CD with the Millar Brass Ochestra, that is my favorite. Also in the same league is "I BELIEVE," a CD done with his friends from the Gaither Vocal Band. Dave is inspirational!!!"
