CD ReviewsGood for fans of the film, but falls short W. M. Berger | Kasparhauser, NJ | 10/10/2007 (3 out of 5 stars) "I was so impressed by David Fincher's film, Zodiac, that I felt the need to own this soundtrack CD. Plus, it's always great to have nicely remastered versions of old radio favorites. One major downside for me is that the tracks on the CD are not sequenced in the order in which they appear in the film, which seems a bit thoughtless on the part of the compilers. In particular, Donovan's "Hurdy Gurdy Man" should be either the second or final song on the disc, which it is not, and anyone who's a fan of the film will likely understand this complaint. Also, the version of Eric Burdon's "Sky Pilot" sounds terrible, though perhaps this was the best available master. My third and final nit-pick is that the Keith Jarrett piano piece used in 1 or 2 scenes is not represented on this disc at all. That said, the Issac Hayes track alone is probably worth tolerating the other shortcomings of this collection. I've also always loved Lynn Anderson's "(I Never Promised You a) Rosegarden." Not a bad disc to own, but don't expect a listening experience that will be fully evocative of the film." Missing one track! Ryan Jones | Farmer City, IL USA | 12/05/2008 (4 out of 5 stars) "This is a good album, however, there is one track missing on this disc which was in the movie. The track is "(the) Lowdown" by Boz Scaggs. This is used in the restaurant scene between Dave Toschi and Robert Graysmith in the movie, and is pivotal for the scene, as Robert is giving Dave the "Lowdown" on who he thinks is the Zodiac Killer. 4 Stars for this out of 5 since the track is missing."
