One of my favorite CD's of all time.

"D & D are some unusually talented brothas, and they really shine on this collection of urban inspirational tracks. Yes, "Necessary Measures" was released in 1994, but it still sounds just as fresh as the day it was released (the expression "Word Up" aside, but we'll excuse even that since the song itself is so good). Not only does it still sound current in most every way...it gets better with each listen.Jet Penix and Fred Hammond lend their fantastic production skills to this project -- but it's the Dawkins brothers who steal the show with their songwriting and vocal abilities. Never overdone or underdone, they allow the Lord to use them to deliver The Message with lyrics that are never preachy; but it will still uplift everyone who listens to it, whether they attend church or not.I said in the title of this review that this is one of my favorite CD's of all time, and I meant it: it really is that good. I own a LOT of music, both spiritual and mainstream -- and have listened to even more than what I own -- but "Necessary Measures" will always have a permanent spot in my personal Top Ten. And while it may not be that "deep" for you, I guarantee you that you will still enjoy this CD immensely!Dawkins and Dawkins, where are you? We're ready for your next project (it's been 5 years since "Focus"). Come on, fellas!"
If you thought you knew everything about the brothers...

"You haven't really got to know Dawkins & Dawkins until you experience the first album that drew me to the group. Don't be one of those that's just jumping on the band wagon, learn something and feel the Lord working in their ministry!"
