The Works? Not quite...

(3 out of 5 stars)

"As a fan of De La, I am always on the look-out for something new from Pos, Dove and Mase - be it remixes, soundtrack/compilation appearances, B-sides, or guest spots. I was rather excited when I saw this new disc of "their best remixes and special versions," and bought it immediately. But despite the presence of a few gems, it's mostly disappointing and probably not worth the high import pricetag. The "Buddy" remix is an undisputed classic, and the remixes of "Ring, Ring, Ring" and "Jenifa" stand out as signature songs as well. I also enjoyed the mixes of "Say No Go" and "Keepin' The Faith," which pleasantly don't stray far from the excellent original versions. Most of what's left are either Euro-Techno style dance mixes (which I don't care for) or album versions (which are all good-to-excellent tracks but are curiously included on a remix cd). And while most of their discography is represented, there are no songs from the underrated "Buhloone Mind State" album included."
