CD Reviews

[Money] 4 songs?!?!?
Dan Dan Leimone | Tucson, AZ USA | 02/21/2002
(2 out of 5 stars)

"I bought the regular US release of The Photo Album shortly after it came out at a local record store for ten dollars when I found out that thier website sold out of the 2-CD limited edition with 3 of the 4 bonus tracks on this Japanese import. Don't be misled by my 2 stars... The Photo Album is awesome, although I don't find it to be as good as We Have The Facts... and The Forbidden Love EP. My favorite track is by far "Information Travels Faster", who's chorus I've not been able to get out of my head since I bought it. It's first lines "I intentionally wrote it out to be an illegible mess, you wanted me to write you letters, but I'd rather lose your address" completely sets the painfully sweet mood for the song while bringing back memories of similar scenes from my own life. Also of note is the faster rocking "Blacking Out The Friction", which sports a great repetitive guitar hook. By all means, DO buy The Photo Album. Then ask yourself: Would four more songs have really been worth an additional thirty-two dollars? I think not. Especially when three of the four can now be purchaced inexpensively on "The Stability EP". If you really want that one last song, twleve dollars on thier website will get you The Photo Album on vinyl with that elusive track "Gridlock Caravans", which is much cooler than owning a rediculously overpriced Japanese CD, anyway."
