Death became so much more...and BETTER

"I agree with Jacob because that lyric conveys so much. Also, the lyrics on this album are stupid no matter how any one person perceives them. Chuck was obviously influenced by over-the-top lyrical themes when he "sang" the lyrics on Scream Bloody Gore. Whether Chuck meant what he wrote in this one lyric is and will probably forever be speculation, but it doesn't matter. The fact is that he "sang" the words: "I celebrate a faggot's death, human disgrace"...For anyone who says that Chuck didn't sing or write that lyric in a literal sense, I say "Prove It"...I love Chuck's music and I classify all of his albums as masterpieces...except this one. Regardless of this one lyrical element, Scream Bloody Gore is simply not that good, to put it blandly. For example, there is no way in hell that you can compare the genius and awesomeness of Symbolic (or any other Death album in my opinion) to Scream Bloody Gore. To do so simply does not make sense. Try not to look at it from a "If you don't own this or like this you are not a true death metal fan" point of view, and analyze and compare Scream Bloody Gore to later Death releases. To Jacob, I say this: I agree with you because to me it's clear that Chuck had a very clear intention when he included that line in this particular song, but I do believe that all of Chuck's other Death releases are amazing because they are the outcome of a more mature, and highly sophisticated and aware individual. I will say for certain that Chuck would have NEVER written a lyric like that again."
Still the best after 21 years!

"One of the greatest death metal albums of all time!
Not bad for an album that's over 20 years old.
Death and Obituary started it all, and no one else even comes close."
