"When she is joyous, she can really be joyous! And when she is serious, she can really be moving. I can not hear her beautiful version of Mi Shiberach without a tear forming. Her background singers and instrumentalists add to her own wonderful voice."

"Live at Carnegie Hall was introduced to me by my boss, a Conservative Jew, more than a year ago and I have not stopped listening to Debbie Friedman yet (although my family has). I, a practicing but less-than-spiritual Methodist, find Friedman's music both inspiring and comforting, especially since Sept. 11."

""Debbie Friedman At Carnegie Hall" is pure joy. These two CDs contain many of Ms. Friedman's best songs, and she does sing beautifully, right from her heart. Fortunately for her fans, the music was recorded live at the Carnegie Hall concert, and her stirring performance has been captured forever on these compact discs. Debbie Friedman writes of her Carnegie Hall experience: "The ambiance was something to behold. The acoustics were phenomenal, the architecture elegant. All of that was seductive and impressive, but as I sang the 'Mi Shebeirach,' I was reminded, in that moment, that no matter where people gather for prayer, it is they who create the warmth, memory, and the magic of any experience."Of course my favorite cut is the extraordinarily moving "Mi Shebeirach." No one sings this beautiful prayer for healing, and the renewal of body and spirit, like Debbie Friedman. Her version of "Oseh Shalom" is different from the one I am accustomed to, but it is delightful and rousing. Friedman's wonderful children's medley "The Alef Bet Song," "Im Ein Ani Li," "Plant A Tree For Tu B'Shevat," "I Am Afikomen," "The 613 Commandments," and "The Latke Song," will delight folks of all ages. And her medley "Arise My Love," "Ani Ma-Amin," and Dodi Li," is very special. Other favorites include: "The Angel's Blessing," and "Birkat Halevana," which so exquisitely describes the rhythms of Jewish life. The music, CDs and concert end with blessing "L'Chi Lach" - wonderful!!!Ms. Friedman accompanies herself on the guitar, and Lynda Roth's talent at the piano, along with a great backup by strings and percussion, enhance the unique compositions. Need I write more? So buy, listen and ENJOY!

"Plan a long trip if you decide to listen in your car. Once you begin listening ... you won't want to turn it off. So you'll have to just keep driving or sit for a while in the parking lot. "Congregation Beth Carnegie" has never sounded better."
Wonderful!

"This CD is one of Debbie Friedman's best. My children and I listen to it in the car often and especially on Fridays on the way to and from school getting ready for Shabbat and we all just love it. Our favorite is "Light These Lights." It is beautiful and moving as are all of the songs. By listening to these 2 CDs you feel as if you have gone to services and have prayed! If you are considering purchasing this CD, you will not be disappointed. It's wonderful!"
