"Don't let the fact that this duo comes from Japan or the somewhat cartoonish cover art fool you into thinking this band has anything to do with the word "cute". This is adult music for the thinking man or woman.
Careening between Throbbing Gristle, Jarboe-era Swans (think "White Light from the Mouth of Infinity"), and a potpourri of influences from a wide variety of sources, you begin to get an idea of the musical territory covered by Decay of the Angel.
This album is a challenging listen, but if you are up for the challenge, then it's a rewarding listen. No 4/4 pop beats here, the music takes sinewy twists down unexpected paths. At times enchantingly beautiful, at other times not for the feint of heart.
Recommended for those who like to have their expectations shattered and exceeded."
