"This legendary US 1974 show at the Ontario speedway CA Los Angeles had been released already by the european EMI and american record company for three years ago. The whole set signifies the same album but with different remixes such as Jon Lord's introduction to the american audience from Deep Purple MK III with two new boys at that time David Coverdale & Glenn Hughes. But the japanese graphic album sleeve is totally different, it is designed by a japanese songtext. From the beginning of the show you can listen to Ritchie Blackmore's hot guitar playing, when he started to warm his fingers at his Fender Stratocaster, then he played the riffs like a demon and finally smashed the neck of his Stratocaster to the camera lens of ABC. He also exploded his guitar amps, boxes, speakers and throwed the guitar to the audience. The huge california stage was almost destroyed into a huge smoke, if Ritchie would not have controlled his abusive attitude!!!PS: u can also check out to the DVD release, it has been also called LIVE AT THE CALIFORNIA JAM 1974 like the soundtrack audio cd."
