Don't look for much emotional depth--the corny "What's That Cookin'," for example, explores chicken dinner while the cover of the Treniers' 1952 classic, "Poon-Tang," is about... well, if you don't know, don't ask--this is upbeat roots music for the sheer joy of it. There we talked about their current album and their second album they were anxious to release.Guys with Talent and Experience!"End of the Line" is probably one of the greatest songs on the entire album, reminiscent of one of the few slow songs of "Bill Haley and The Comets" other songs to try: Poon-Tang, Mexicali Rose, and HotRodQueen.Watch for the ALL-STAR line up backing up Deke and the Ecco-Fonics!Great Rockabilly, be-bop, roots, Southern Twang mix! This is a frequent flyer in my cd player. From the Jerry Lee Lewis-y "Mexicali Rose" through the fun tracks "Forest For the Trees" and "Hot Rod Queen", this is the hillbilly happening cd of the 90's. My favorite songs are "Feelin' Low" and "Lady Killin' Papa", which must be autobiographical for ol'Deke, the ol'dog. If you're a punk rockin' hillbilly like me, you'll love this cd."
