Deke Dickerson & the Modern Sounds are two of the most respected roots artists working today. Deke has blazed a trail all over the world over the past decade, establishing himself as one of the genre's best-loved singers and guitarists. The Modern Sounds, from Chicago, Illinois, are a supergroup of talent comprised of Joel Paterson (formerly with Jimmy Sutton's Four Charms, Devil In A Woodpile, etc.), Beau Sample (formerly with Cave Catt Sammy), and powerhouse drummer (and recording engineer) Alex Hall. Recently, Deke & the Modern Sounds recorded a live performance at Duff's Garage in Portland, Oregon, and the result is this fabulous new Live CD. The sound quality is superb for a live CD, and tracks include Deke staples such as Mexicali Rose and Muleskinner Blues along with new classics like Run Red Run, Ain't No Grave Deep Enough, Lover Come Back To Me, and I'm A Lover Not A Fighter.
