"Noone's reviewed this yet?!? Shame on you all. It's been years!!! Accept that The Delgados will be the band to save music from it's self destruction. They're stronger than labels, more personal than any "emo" fan can claim, and more creative than your crap, exclusive, attitude-based favorite... They're The Delgados and this is their first album. Start with this one, then buy their second, their third, their forth...If you need comparisons or track descriptions, that's too bad. For once in your life, take a risk, trust a stranger. Trust me, when I tell you to buy this album and all of their other releases too."
Not so much like the newer stuff... but BRILLIANT

"The first album from the Delgados has a totally different sound than their newer stuff, such as Hate and The Great Eastern. The orchestration and heavy production is absent, the sound is more raw, vocals more seething, and drumming more energetic. But it's just as compelling as their more recent works. It's kind of like a secret, I guess. Buy this record. It rocks."
