Out of the illness.... into the blue!

"Some of you may not know this, but Delta Goodrem actually battled a serious cancer throughout most of 2003. Despite that, she had a record-breaking 6 number one hits from her first album, "Innocent Eyes" which went platnium 14 times and sold 2.3 million copies in Australia and UK. On top of that she won a record-smashing 7 ARIA awards (Australia's equivelant to the Grammys)
News of Delta's illness after such a perfect start to her career (then just the tender age of 17), sent shockwaves through her massive fan base and rocked all who had heard of her. But her pure spirit and positive outlook on life have helped her and her adoring fans pull through this dauntng time.
Delta makes her highly anticipated return to the music with this song "Out of the Blue", an epic love song about a former partner. When promoting the album and asked why she didn't release a track based more specifically on her illness, she answered, "I wanted to show everyone that the year was filled with many positives as well as the negatives. I wanted to return to my friends and fans as someone not dwelling on the past and ready to move into the new era."
In a different style as her usual swooning melodies, "Out of the Blue" marks a new edge in Delta's music which is explored more thoroughly in her follow-up album "Mistaken Identity". "out of the Blue" is simply a beautiful song, filled with uplifting, inspiring lyrics and a majestic melody.
I think I should also mention something on the B-Sides, particularly "Visualise". This one of the beautiful and tear-jerking songs. It explores more into Delta's battle with cancer and telling herself that she can do it, she can see the end and she WILL get there! It's one of my favourite songs and its a shame it won't be on the final album.
so in conclusion, "Out of the Blue" re-introduces us to Delta as a more mature, stronger more determined singer, with a driving energy and a passion to put a smile and tune in our hearts. She's out of the illness... and into the blue! I love you, Delta!"
