A worthwhile jazz buy.

"Denine Monet's LadyBird is a stunning combination of her achingly beautiful voice and solid, solid jazz. All of her instrumentalists are stellar, and the arrangements are gorgeous. This album ranges from Night in Tunisia, where she dabbles strikingly in middle-eastern style improvisation, to the title cut, a splendid, tight duet with Kenny Washington, to Lazy Afternoon, a sensual, slow, almost-tone-poem that makes you want to lie in the grass and bake in the sun. Some of the cuts are composed by her, in fact, and carry a theme of wonder, grace and empowerment. This album is great for two purposes: sitting still and really concentrating on the music, or just great ambient background jazz. I can honestly say that this CD improves with each listening."
