"Denison Witmer on the 80s Ep, a precursor to his upcoming Of Joy and Sorrow, is quite captivating. Witmer is a promising talent. Check out Paper Doll, a demo from 1994 (when Witmer was only 17), its spare beauty emphasizes his amazing voice. This is a late night, lights low, album. Be sure to grab his full length debut- Safe Away. Witmer on the final track of the 80s ep, and on much of Safe Away, is accompanied by Don Peris, of the Innocence Mission, on classic guitar. This album is a must for fans of pre-Dreamworks Elliott Smith, acoustic Red House Painters, Ida, Richard Buckner, and of course Nick Drake's Pink Moon. ..."
