"Dont get me wrong, I am a huge Paul McCartney and Wings fan, that's why I bought this song. I loved Denny's songs with Wings back in the 70's. But, unfortunately, time has took its toll on our friend Denny. The songs are poorly sung and sound like a chicken being rung around its neck occasionally. Often, Denny strains to get at the right notes and often hits the wrong note entirely. OUCH! Again, the instruments play the songs very well, but it doenst matter if the voice is bad. Only two songs save the day..GO NOW and SEND ME THE HEART. Otherwise, avoid this at all costs. Sorry Denny, I love you but this album doesnt do you justice."
A pleasant surprise

"At first glance, I didn't know what to expect from Denny Laine's newest album. However, I was pleasantly surprised to hear how well Denny sounds after being black-listed for the past 20 years. On Blackbird, it seems Denny almost mocks one of Paul's favorite tunes. However, this album seems to represent a forgive and forget attitude on Laine's behalf. Contrary to other reviews, the masterfully produced bonus tracks which beg for Paul's direction and input, lead one to wonder if the tracks have a place in the forthcoming Wings Anthology? True Wings and McCartney fans must BUY THIS CD, you won't be let down."
Your money would be better spent on the real McCartney

"This CD isn't anything to get excited about, and I would suggest to any Beatles/McCartney fan that you save your money or spend it on something created by an actual Beatle, unless you're a collector. There is nothing particularly interesting or original in Laine's interpretations; in fact, it's bland and at times plodding. The arrangements are dull and he often sounds as if he's straining to sing the notes. Certainly nothing is overproduced, but unfortunately that may be the CD's biggest virtue. I hate to be unkind about Laine because he brought an awful lot to Wings in the band's heyday. However, that was 25 years ago, and his virtual disappearance from music since Wings' demise shows. I'm glad that Laine feels enough amity toward McCartney to want to pay him tribute, though I suspect that the making of this CD was motivated as much by financial need as it was by friendship. While this isn't a bad CD it's also not a particularly good one, and proves why Laine will be remembered as a stalwart sideman and not as a first-tier talent."

"Denny Laine's stunningly beautiful tribute album, is warm and cozy. His fresh versions of old material sound so intimate, you'd swear that Denny was sitting right there in your living room playing the songs for you with his acoustic guitar.I loved Wings back 20-25 years ago when they were on top of the charts, and the songs on this CD remind me why I loved Wings. Thanks Denny, for rekindling old memories."
A Well Done Tribute

"When I purchased this CD, I figured it would be interesting to hear Denny Laine's versions of the Wings songs. I knew it would be pretty good, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well done the songs are. Laine's voice is excellent and he does a very admirable job singing the songs of his legendary former bandmate. The arrangements are excellent, especially Listen to What the Man Said, done with only an acoustic guitar and violin. Other standouts are gorgeous versions of Mull of Kintyre and Blackbird, a rocking Silly Love Songs and Band on the Run, and the obscure Wings songs Deliver Your Children and Children Children. The only down parts of the album are a couple of the bonus tracks and Send Me the Heart, an awful country song.I really enjoy listening to this CD. If you're a McCartney fan, this CD is a must pickup. I HIGHLY recommend it."
