CD ReviewsEnchanting Richard A. Moskovitz | 01/08/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "Of the four albums I now own of this enchanting singer, Dakshina is my favorite. Deva Premal's voice is mesmerizing and profoundly calming." You will never get tired of any of Dakshina: Calming & Envig J. Cuddy | 02/03/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "I can and have listened to Deva Premal's Dakshina all day long on more than one occasion. It calms and elevates my heart and mind, soothing troubled and angry thoughts. Another interesting thing about this CD is that it complements mental work very nicely. I have used it when addressing problems in database design and I assure you I find myself able to focus better and work longer while listening to it. Deva Premal's voice and the instrumentation on this CD are a presence that can either take center stage, charm, and reward your attention or sublimate itself into an atmosphere that sustains and nourishes as necessary." Too Syrupy Fierce Goddess Warrior | USA | 12/26/2009 (3 out of 5 stars) "There is no escaping Deva Premal when you are looking for meditation/yoga music by a female artist, so I keep giving it a try. Many people call her voice "angelic," but I just don't agree. I would call it "syrupy." There is too much trying to sound sweet, there is that vibration in the voice which I never hear in other kirtan songs, and the background music is just too much elevator music. All of Deva Premal's albums are like American Idol style kirtan, it may work well in spas, but I wouldn't consider it to be spiritual music."
