CD Reviews
A summer sensation.

"Diana's last album for RCA and definitely one of her best of all time. I remember when this album came out in May, 1987. It has all the sounds of summer including the sultry "Summertime".
"Dirty Looks", "Shine" and "Shockwaves" are all good rockers.
The extra bonus on this import CD are the songs: "Tell Mama" and "Mr. Lee". They were not included on the original US release.
They make their debut here and alone are worth the price of this CD. The beautiful ballad "Tell Me Again" still sounds great, it deserves more attention now than ever.
Don't miss the opportunity to purchase this memorable CD."
Her best album from the 80's

"This album is really wonderful. «Dirty looks» is one of her sexiest songs, like «Love hangover» in 1976, the ballads «There goes my baby» and «Summertime» capture the magic of her fragility, «Stranger in paradise» is haunting and mysterious, «Shine» and «Shockwaves» are 100% delicious swing. The production by sound engineer Tom Dowd, who worked with Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin during their Atlantic years, is flawless. This cd is the Japanese reissue of the EMI European/Japanese original vinyl with 12 songs and «Dirty looks» clocking at 3:20 (the RCA US version had 10 songs -«Mr. Lee» and «Tell mama» were not available here- and «Dirty looks» was in a 4:10 different mix)."

"This is one of the finest moments for Diana Ross during her RCA years. The best songs are certainly "Summertime" and "Shock Waves."
This is truly worthy of the high price tag (or order it used).
A must have for those who appreciate good R&B before it was ruined by Hip Hop."

"this was diana last rca lp/cd and here it is reissued on cd with 2 bonus tracks and it is ,in my opinion, one of the strongest ross rca lps.ross does a good job reinventing songs like MR.LEE,DIRTY LOOKS,SELFISH ONE.this lp was a sequel ,if you will ,to another Ross lp WHY DO FOOLS FALL IN LOVE ,but this lp holds up better then the first and there are more hits than misses here."

"This set is full of wonderful songs. the hidden gem is "it hard for me to say" which is written by Luther Vandross, and he sings background on the track. and incidently he rerecords the song on a lter album. he stated in an nterview that he wanted to write and produce an entire LP for her as he did for Aretha and Dionne, but she refused, but give him one song. Also 'shine" amother great choice which was recorded by Simply Red earlier. songs from this LP was also featured in a ABC TV specail (find it if you can)! Also a quiet gem is 'summertime". The hit songs on this set are dirty Looks which reached #12 on the RB charts and Tell me again which did not reach the chart."
