REMIX-A-LICIOUS!!
VINCENT P TARSITANO | PORT ORANGE, FL USA | 05/11/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Every major artist with danceable tunes deserves a remix treatment as good as this. Very tasty! Mostly, you're getting all the major parts of each song re-mixed to [near]perfection by the re-mix maestros. "Love Hangover," "The Boss," and "Someday We'll Be Together" are the best, and "Upside Down" and "I'm Coming Out" are just fine, too. I never cared that much for "Chain Reaction" or the others. But, this set is definitely worth it for the excellent, excellent job done on the above-cited. A solid, tasty effort. Get up and DANCE!"
La Diva Safely Hits the Dance Floor for Fans

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Though it was hard to imagine what yet another collection of Ross' endurable uptempo hits remixed would provide new for fans, this set flows nicely with nuances to freshen up the well worn grooves on these classics. From Junior Vasquez to Frankie Knuckles, the best of remixers offers easily accessible takes on "The Boss" with a windpercussive instrument adding just the right color against a more soulful, rather than dance lead. "Upside Down" makes a long 8-9 minute journey before it cleverly demands "up, up", "up up", "up up" DOWN" capturing the children's playground soundtrack that Ross originally tasked the Chic guys to create for her. Less appealing is "Chain Reaction" and "I'm Coming Out" (though a great radio edit exist if you can find it that also pays homage to Ross' original desired first listenings of the legendary Chic mixes). The gem of the set, especially in its on reinterpretations available on CD single, "Someday We'll Be Together" totally transforms the possiblity of what this set may have originally intended.

The artwork is pleasant and was used to promote her European summer dates in 1993. She included a huge chunk of the mix for "Upside Down" in her 30th Anniversary global tour set that ran from 1993-94."
